I feel like I've been everywhere, but no where at all. It's been a rigorous... over two months since I've updated my xanga and really sat and rethought about everything that's happened. I thought maybe I'd start off with me in front of Sather Gate on my Senior Weekend trip to Berkeley. The picture was taken on Cal Day and it was very crowded, so it can be hard to see me, and so I am holding a white bag to the left of the picture, next to the recycle bin :]
This trip also meant my first plane ride...
The school food's size nowadays still amazes me, a tiny piece of cooked powdered egg on some thin slice of sausage on wheat bread:
But my cupcakes still look pretty bomb :] (It's just that goldfish don't taste great on cupcakes, but they're cute!)
I turned 18:
I went to prom. The dress, my clutch, my shoes, and my accessories were free from a Cinderella's For Life Program, my hair was done in an hour+ by my friend Nancy, my makeup was borrowed from Kat and done by my cousin Uyen, I got to pick my own corsage, and my date was very handsome ;]
I watched my first parade, the Strawberry Festival Parade:
Had and helped plan the '08 Banquet at BJ's, gathering and doing stuff for the advisor's gift was so challenging!
Had the Swim Banquet at Souplantation. I got the Coach's Award! ...and helping out with the coaches' gifts were tiring there too /).< But I'm sure they loved it! An engraved whistle for each and new chairs to take to swim meets, and those rock! literally!
I took a whole day out of my classes to decorate the HUGE SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT. It looked and felt amazing. I totally wasn't expecting Salutatorian. I thought Wong got it but they counted the GPA I thought they weren't going to count o.O The balloons for the arcs in the picture naturally made that curve and we totally weren't planning for it o.O The clear balloons that we put in between the different purple ones weighed them down and eventually when the helium slowly escaped, it formed the awesome curves in the picture :]
I attended the NHS Banquet at Marie Calendar's today and I'm totally glad I did =) Thanh's got the pictures for that =] All in all... it's been very hectic. All those things I attended and tried to put together including the senior slideshow pictures, Environmental Club Garden, Civics Presidential Campaign Project, Journalism articles, Swim slideshow... filling out USC stuff. Oh yeah, if anyone didn't know yet... I'm going to USC next year! I'll be dorming at the Parkside Arts and Humanities Residential College http://housing.usc.edu/building/building.aspx?PageBuildingCode=PRB It's tough trying to figure out what I want to do this summer. I don't want to end up messing up trying to commit to things like I did before.. which I shall not name, because so many things come up and I can be horrible at apologizing and facing the facts... I wanted to do a lot. Get some sort of job, maybe work over at the OC Fair like Kiky, and then I also wanted to take a class at SAC just cause.. like Sociology or something and swim because it's fun and I miss it and it keeps me in good shape... and thennn... I don't know if I can really commit to any of that because 1) my dad's been wanting to take the family on a vacation somewhere, 2) I have a brunch and a retreat to attend for the scholarship I'm getting, and 3) I have USC Orientation to attend as well as placement tests and pre-orientation homework to do =/ I'm letting out a great big sigh right now. Everything lately has just been a lot of money and a lot of time and noting feels like it's slowing down like it should be. I don't want to be running my whole way 'til I'm up on that stage for the graduation ceremony. I've got so many yearbook inserts to do also. I'm really excited, but everything going on is SO CRAZY. ~Turkey |
